PLACE egg whites in large mixer bowl. Beat until soft peaks form. Slowly add powdered sugar and cream of tartar; beat until stiff peaks form.

I did not prepare this recipe fully. I was looking for a recipe of Abuelita chocolate pudding and this seemed to nail it. I made the stuff called "sauce" by this recipe. I also added 1/8 teaspoon of cornstarch while I was mixing it in the final step. The cornstarch made it a bit thicker but not gelatinous when it was fully cooled. It was just right. :) Also, it yields about 4 cups of pudding. I highly recommend this "chocolate pudding" to be eaten as a dip with strawberries. YUM!
