COMBINE water, piloncillo, cinnamon sticks, anise and cloves in medium saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover. Cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in coffee granules. Cover; steep for 5 minutes.

HEAT evaporated milk in small saucepan over medium-high heat. Whisk constantly until milk is frothy and just comes to a boil. Remove from heat.

STRAIN coffee through a fine sieve into individual serving cups. Serve immediately with frothed milk on the side.

I love the spicy flavor of this coffee! It can be served as "dessert" to company. I substituted a granulated brown sugar with the strong spices and it was very tasty, you could not tell that it was not real brown sugar.

My daughter and I really liked this! Very tasty, and a perfect finish to our Mexican themed meal. It was an effort to make, but well worth it...:)

I tried this on a whim. We loved it - guests asked for seconds and wanted the recipe. My family likes the taste anise seed adds to food (I've only used it with meats and vegetables). I was delighted to find another use for a favorite herb. I used the dark brown sugar and found it worked quite well. Interesting taste change. We'll be making this again!!

VERY GOOD, EVERYONE LOVED THIS AFTER DINNER FOR A REAL TREAT. ADD CHOCOLATE AND AMAMARETTI. REALLY GREAT.

Well it definetely is not a bad mix, that is for sure, but it lacks a certain pizzaz that other coffees normally have. I do like the cinamon sticks though they add the extra touch that makes it feel like something you should curl up with and drink in front of the fire
