This Quick Abuelita Champurrado is a chocolate-based atole, a warm and thick Mexican drink, based on masa (hominy flour), milk and an optional addition of cloves or anise. Relaxing and comforting beverage you will truly enjoy.

PLACE masa flour and hot water in medium saucepan; mix until smooth. Add milk and Abuelita chocolate. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook, stirring constantly, for 1 to 3 minutes or until thickened to desired consistency. Serve immediately.

SUGGESTIONS: Anise and/or cloves can also be added to mixture if desired and then removed before serving. The mixture can be strained through a fine sieve before serving if a smoother Champurrado is desired.
