Nice creamy texture. Good change of pace.
I changed this up a little: I sauteed bacon and leeks, drained off the fat and added diced tomatoes and evap milk. Add a little pepper and YUMMY!!
easy, creamy, and soooo delicious! Warms the heart and soul. Delicious with goldfish crackers, cheese, or just by itself. Make and enjoy today!
Years ago in the 50's early 60's this is how my dad made the soup. Since than that is how I make mine and taught my son the same thing. Makes it creamier and richer tasting. On a cold day it is so good. Even on a warm day, warms my tummy and makes me feel good.
I have always loved the creamy, wholesome taste the undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk gives my canned Tomato Soup. I had my Grandchild over and we had Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. She wanted some crackers, to dip in her soup. She told me that I might be disgusted by how she was going to eat them, and I told her, not to worry, eat them anyway you want. She dipped the crackers in her soup, and I dunked my Grilled Cheese in mine, she said yuck! I told her to try it, she might like it. So she did, and now she's a Grilled Cheese dipper as well!
I loved it, I have really been wanting tomato soup but wasn't really into out of the can style soup. So when I saw this I was really excited and glad for a new idea. Was a great change from out of the can and add water. Thanks
This is a quick, delicious soup that even my husband can make. The Carnation milk makes the soup creamy. I also like to add canned diced tomatoes to this. A keeper!!
