I can't wait to try this on my granddaughter during her next visit. She always wants macaroni and cheese and the rest of the family has other requests. I keep Carnation milk on hand and use it for my favorite gravy recipe.
Carnation Evaporated Milk is not only great in this mac and cheese but also in a variety of other recipes. I especially like it in my tuna noodle casserole. It adds a rich flavor instead of using just plain milk. (I use the Carnation Evaporated Skim Milk.)
I never thought about using low fat evap milk to make Mac & Cheese. It is so creamy, delicious and the best is low fat! I am loving this new idea so much and everyone should try it out!
Out of necessity;I made mac & cheese this way to serve my very finicky 8 yo grand daughter.She didn't want the franks & beans I had planned & I was out of fresh bottled milk. She said it was" the bestess mac& cheese, she ever ate"
The grandkids loved it better than regular skim milk. Thanks for the idea. But still prefer the old fashioned baked mac & cheese.
