Traditional Macaroni & Cheese
This baked version of Traditional Macaroni & Cheese is quick and easy to prepare. This family favorite is always a welcomed addition for lunch or at dinnertime.

Servings: 6 servings
PREHEAT oven to 375° F. Grease 2-quart casserole dish.
COMBINE cornstarch, salt, mustard and pepper in medium saucepan. Stir in evaporated milk, water, and butter. Cook over medium-heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in 1½ cups cheese until melted. Add macaroni; mix well. Pour into prepared casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese.
BAKE for 20 to 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and light brown.
NOTE: To transform Macaroni & Cheese from a simple dish to a savory one-dish meal, add 1 cup chopped ham or hot dogs after milk mixture comes to a boil.

This was the first time I'd made Mac & Cheese from scratch, and was very nervous. Not only was this easy, but the taste does not compare to boxed mac & cheese. AT ALL. This is the easiest, more wonderful recipe I ahve ever tried.

This macaroni & cheese casserole was the best tasting I've ever made not to mention quick & easy. I don't like to add eggs so this recipe is perfect! The only thing I might change up in the future is the types of cheese I use other than that, this recipe is a keeper, you won't be dissapointed!
