Turkey and Cranberry-Chipotle Sauce

0 0 Recipe Reviews | Rate this Recipe | 47 Saves

Turkey and homemade cranberry sauce is perfect for Thanksgiving, although with a smaller turkey breast there's no reason you can't make this year-round. The chipotle chile adds flavor and heat to the cranberry sauce.

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350° F.

BAKE turkey breast for 45 minutes or until meat thermometer reaches 170° F on an instant-read thermometer. Let turkey stand and proceed with recipe.

PLACE evaporated milk, water, chile, bouillon and garlic powder in a blender; cover. Blend until smooth.

HEAT oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion; cook, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes. Add blended mixture; mix constantly for 15 minutes. This will help thicken the sauce.

ADD cranberries to sauce; continue to stir. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

WHISK flour and ½ cup of sauce together in a separate bowl. Once smooth, return to skillet; cook for an additional 2 minutes.

SLICE turkey. Spoon sauce over sliced turkey.

Tip: Prepare the sauce right before the turkey is going to come out of the oven.
