These mini buñuelos are so easy to make using ingredients you likely already have: whole wheat tortillas, sugar and cinnamon. Make them extra special with a Café de Olla Fudge sauce for a great looking dessert.
Original reipce makes 2 dozen Change Servings
COMBINE sugar and cinnamon in small bowl; set aside.
USING a 3-inch cookie cutter or drinking glass, cut out 4 circles from each tortilla.
HEAT oil in medium skillet. Fry tortillas 4 at a time, turning once, for about 10 to 15 seconds per side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle fritters with cinnamon-sugar on both sides. Serve with hot fudge sauce.
CAFÉ DE OLLA HOT FUDGE SAUCE
(Makes 10 servings, about 2 tablespoons per serving)
3/4 cup NESTLÉ LA LECHERA Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
3 tablespoons hot water
1 tablespoon NESCAFÉ Café de Olla Instant Coffee Beverage Granules
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash of salt
COMBINE sweetened condensed milk and chocolate in medium, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for 1 minute. Stir with wire whisk until smooth.
COMBINE water and coffee granules in small bowl; stir until dissolved. Stir into chocolate mixture along with vanilla extract and salt.
