Ingredients

Step 1

Combine 2 envelopes Abuelita and granulated sugar in small bowl. Set aside.

Step 2

Combine powdered sugar, 3 envelopes Abuelita, milk and melted butter in small bowl. Set aside.

Step 3

Combine water, remaining 1 envelope Abuelita, 1/2 cup butter and salt in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Remove from heat; stir in flour. Beat batter with spoon until smooth and mixture pulls away from side of pan. Cool batter for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in orange extract; cool for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Pour oil to 1-inch depth in large skillet. Heat to frying temperature. Put half of dough in large pastry bag with large star tip. Squeeze dough into oil until you have a ribbon about 7 to 9 inches long, cutting dough from tip of pastry bag with a knife. Fry 3 to 4 ribbons at a time, turning occasionally, for about 5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining dough. Sprinkle with Abuelita-sugar mixture. Serve warm with sauce.
